Meet The Team

Founder & President
Michelle Xiang
Michelle is a junior at Naperville North High School, driven by a deep passion for student advocacy and leadership. As a firm believer in empowering fellow students, she founded the Youth Leadership Committee at her Chinese school in early 2023, providing a platform for students to amplify their voices, develop leadership qualities in Asian youth, and foster positive change within our school community. In her free time, she loves reading up on current events and biology. She is also an avid Formula 1 fan (forza Ferrari!).

Aaron Chen
Aaron Chen is a freshman at Naperville North High School. He loves being involved in his community and is passionate about youth engagement and advocacy. Aaron plays for the Naperville North soccer, wrestling, and volleyball teams, and founded the North Aviation Club. His efforts extend beyond school as well, and Aaron is a founding member of the RCS Student Leadership Committee, in which he has worked to help younger students develop their leadership and communication skills.

Sean Hargrove
​Sean is a freshman who attends Naperville Central High School, influenced by his love for teaching younger students. Sean was a founding member of the RCS Leadership Committee in 2023. Sean is an active student leader and community member who appreciates students' passions, beliefs, and dreams. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, reading, lifting weights, and spending time with family and friends.

Joshua Campbell
Joshua Campbell has been teaching English and Chinese Culture around the world for nearly two decades. Focusing on test prep and intercultural communications, he uses his love of Chinese culture to bridge the gap between east and west.Mr. Campbell holds a TESOL certificate, HSK 6 Chinese certification, an Illinois teaching certificate, and a Master's in Education. He has eleven years experience teaching at Ray Chinese School, ten years experience teaching at both Chinese and American public high schools, and is an adjunct professor at North Central College in Naperville.He also completed his Distinguished Toast Master award in China in 2012 making him one of very few foreigners to reach the highest level of Toastmasters in Mainland China.

Jinai Sun
Dr. Sun has more than 10 years of experience in Chinese language education and teacher development in the United States. Since 2011, she has held a visiting teaching position in Chinese at North Central College. In 2014 she was appointed as Assistant Professor of Chinese. As administrator and teacher in the College's Chinese program, she expanded the program from a minor to a major area of study. Sun also has served as program director for the highly competitive STARTALK Chinese Immersion program granted by the United States Department of Defense.
Her areas of research interest focus on implementation of Chinese as a foreign language and the enhancement of Chinese language capacity in American schools. Her studies also target curriculum and instruction as well as effective delivery and communication in higher education classrooms.
